Types of Memberships
Individuals working in governmental agencies; nonprofit agencies; organizations, or volunteers in crime prevention programs or community policing efforts, who have a concerned and demonstrated interest in the promotion of advancement of crime prevention or community policing in the State of Ohio. Membership is available to both civilian and law enforcement personnel.
Retired individuals may join OCPA at a reduced 50% Active member rate. To qualify for this discount in membership fees, you must (1) Provide proof of your retirement; (2) Not receive gainful full-time employment pay in a similar field that would fall within the active membership description.
Individuals working in commercial enterprises whose business interests are related to some facet of crime prevention or community policing. Those eligible are all persons involved in the design, manufacture, supply and installation of the security industry, building and contracting, architecture, private security companies or related commercial enterprises who have a concerned and vested interest in the promotion of crime prevention and community policing in the State of Ohio. Associate members do not have voting rights, but may attend and contribute their expertise in Association meetings. They may also serve as members of appointive committees at the will of the President.

Corporate Partner includes those public, private or commercial organizations who support and encourage crime prevention or community policing.
Nonprofit Benefits- Nonprofit agencies, governmental bodies, or organizations who do not make a profit from crime prevention. Such membership is eligible to hold office and one member of the Nonprofit organization is eligible to vote.
Private organizations involved in the design, manufacture, supply and installation of the security industry, building and contracting, architecture, private security companies or related commercial enterprises. Such membership is ineligible to hold office. One member is eligible to vote.
