Crime Prevention Month Resolution Introduced in the
Oho House of Representatives

State Rep. Jim Hughes (Columbus) has introduced a resolution designating October 2007 as Crime Prevention Month in Ohio.  House Concurrent Resolution 26 recognizes the impact of personal and property crimes on individuals and communities and encourages all Ohioans to become involved in efforts to stop and eliminate crime by supporting their local law enforcement agencies, crime prevention initiatives, neighborhood safety groups and citizen and police partnerships.  The resolution was introduced on October 9 and referred to the House State Government and Elections Committee.

Rep. Hughes, a former assistant Franklin County prosecutor, has long been a supporter of crime prevention and a champion on criminal justice issues.  He has sponsored a number of bills to get tough on criminals and help prevent crime.  Rep. Hughes currently serves as the chairman of the House Juvenile and Family Law Committee in the House.
