Three-year Objectives: 2006-2008

An * indicates a ‘must do” Objective in 2006.
Goal 1: Provide the membership with a variety of basic and advanced
resources, educational opportunities and networking.
*1.1 Provide an annual training conference.
1.2 Facilitate statewide and regional basic and advanced training,
including CPS certification.
1.3 Be a clearinghouse for national, state, local and private online
crime prevention resources.
1.4 Develop a list of “peer-to-peer” Technical Assistance
Providers who will be available to assist other members with topic
specific resources.
Goal 2: Collaborate with nontraditional crime prevention consumers
to create new approaches to prevent victimization.
2.1 Form a collaboration with educational institutions throughout
Ohio to impact the adoption, design and content of their crime prevention
curricula.
2.2 Form a collaboration with insurance corporations to identify areas
of mutual concern regarding crime risk reduction.
*2.3 Form a collaboration with Ohio Department of Homeland Security
to identify potential threat risks and mobilize OCPA Certified Prevention
Specialist members to conduct professional threat risk assessments.
2.4 Educate the media to clarify the fact that OCPA Certified Prevention
Specialist members are the crime prevention subject matter experts
in Ohio.
Goal 3: Conduct effective marketing and image promotion programs.
3.1 Utilize technologies (Web, etc.) in conducting marketing and image
promotion programs.
3.2 Build collaborative partnerships with faith based organizations,
private corporations, and governmental agencies.
3.3 Build and develop brand recognition.
Goal 4: Grow and maintain a fiscally sound, effective and efficient
organizational infrastructure that supports achievement of OCPA goals
and objectives.
4.1 Stabilize, broaden and grow income to permit accomplishment of
OCPA’s current strategic plan and future growth opportunities.
4.2 Align OCPA’s financial and business plan with the Strategic
Plan.
4.3 Use the Strategic Plan as the basis for all Board meetings and
committee activities.
4.4 Become a 501(c)(3) organization.
4.5 Review and modify OCPA’s organizational structure, governing
documents and policies and procedures to be consistent with the Strategic
Plan.
4.6 Continuously review new programmatic and funding opportunities.
4.7 Conduct an annual Board orientation program for new and continuing
Board members.
4.8 Refresh the Three Year Strategic Plan annually, and conduct a
major update every three years.
